Using wheelbarrows, shovels and a flat-bed truck borrowed from Alrie and Middlebrook Gardens, our team moved three wheelbarrows (half of a truck bed) full of mixed red lava rock and expanded clay pebble media from the Hester Garden to the Middlebrook Gardens location. Images shown below display the Hester Garden aquaponics system, that is no longer being used, from where we took the necessary bed media. While we have not yet added the media to Bed #4 at Middlebrook, the heavy-lifting has been completed and transferring the media should not take our team too much longer. After the media is transferred, Alrie and her volunteers plan to plant either spinach and arugula or tomatoes in the new media bed.

As for implementation of our water filter design, our team struggled with shaping the material to the pump in a sufficient way. Updates to come regarding our second design iteration!
