Community Partner Visit #2: Minutes
On April 23rd, our team met with Alrie and a number of other individuals on-site to ask questions and collect important information regarding the current aquaponics systems. See our notes below!

Components

Four “media” beds (IBCs - Intermediate Bulk Containers)

One, long “floating-raft” bed

Note: water is cycled every 2-3 days (should be every 2-3 hours)

Two barrels (1 blue and 1 white)

One generic brand pump (LL1200)

Note: not sure about GPH (gallons per hour power)

Note: pump is attached to a PVC pipe that is wrapped in a mesh bag for filtration purposes (does not appear super effective, gets clogged easily)

Note: if the PVC ends 18 inches or more above the pond, the water will oxygenate itself naturally
